Accountants must adhere to mandatory rules while executing their tasks. A number of specific laws are in force which are directed towards Dutch accountants such as the ‘Law for accountants’ (Wet op het accountantsberoep) and the ‘Law supervising auditfirms’ (Wta).
Other important rules have been developed by the Netherlands institute for Chartered Accountants (NBA).
